Steak frites, and nothing to improve

A proper brasserie: white tablecloths, a zinc bar, service from noon until eleven, and a menu that has not needed reinventing since 1911.

The room

A brasserie is a machine for feeding people well

We serve continuously from noon until eleven, which means you can eat at four in the afternoon like a civilised person. The kitchen never closes between services.

The room seats ninety, the bar seats sixteen, and both take walk-ins. Somebody has been on the pass since we opened in 2014.

“The onion soup is better than any I had in Paris last year. I have stopped being embarrassed about saying so.”
